Product Overview

Mavuus is a marketing portal designed to connect marketers with service providers through a trust-based system of recommendations and ratings. The platform addresses the industry's need for a reliable network, allowing for transparent and efficient collaborations.


Problem & Solution Statement

Problem:

The marketing industry lacked a reliable platform for connecting businesses with service providers, a need intensified by the shift to online services during COVID-19. Existing platforms lacked the necessary trust and empathy, making it challenging for businesses to find suitable collaborators.

Solution:

Mavuus was developed as an all-in-one platform for job posting, vendor connection, and networking within the marketing field. It features a system where service providers are rated and recommended, facilitating trusted connections and transparency in the industry.


Design Process

  • Initial Client Meeting: Engaged with the client to understand the product vision, business objectives, and anticipated features.
  • User Research & Interviews: Interviewed 5 marketing professionals and 5 freelancers to gather insights into user needs and preferences.
  • Survey for Prioritization: Conducted 50 surveys to prioritize features and user requirements identified during the interviews.
  • Refine Map & Persona Creation: Created personas based on research and survey results to understand user motivations and challenges deeply.
  • Feature Development & Planning: Defined key features and functionalities for each screen based on insights from client meetings, user research, and surveys.
  • Information Architecture & User Flow Development: Developed a user-friendly navigation structure and user flows to optimize the customer journey.
  • Low-Fidelity Wireframing: Produced initial wireframes to sketch out the app's structure and interface.
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders on Low-Fidelity Platform: Shared low-fidelity wireframes with stakeholders, incorporating their vision and feedback into the design.
  • Usability Testing of Low-Fidelity Prototypes: Conducted usability testing with a select group of users based on the low-fidelity wireframes to identify usability issues and areas for improvement. Key Findings: Users expressed confusion over navigation paths and the process for submitting project requests. There was also feedback regarding the visibility and accessibility of key features, such as viewing freelancer profiles and initiating contact.
  • Design System Development: Established a comprehensive design system for consistency and scalability in design solutions.
  • High-Fidelity Prototyping: Created detailed prototypes that closely mirrored the final product vision, incorporating adjustments from stakeholder feedback and usability testing findings.
  • Usability Testing of High-Fidelity Prototypes: Performed further moderated usability testing with a new set of users to gather feedback on the high-fidelity prototypes, refining the design based on this feedback.
  • Feature and Function Refinement: Adjusted features and functionalities based on comprehensive insights from both sets of usability testing and stakeholder collaboration, ensuring the platform effectively meets user needs and business objectives.
  • Final Design Review, Stakeholder Approval, and Hand-Off: Finalized the design after incorporating all necessary refinements and presented it to stakeholders for approval. Prepared detailed documentation and facilitated the hand-off to the development team for implementation.

Challenges & Conclusion

Managing the project's scope was a significant challenge, requiring prioritization of key features to deliver a successful product within time and budget constraints. The project provided valuable insights into the needs of the marketing industry, driving the creation of a user-friendly and effective platform.
